At midnight, the ball went down. At least, I haven’t heard otherwise. We had a few technical difficulties actually finding the channel that featured the ball going down.
Instead, we chose to follow the satellite time on my uncle’s phone. This is how it went:
“Well, um… my phone says it’s midnight,” I shrugged.
“So does mine,” piped another, “kay! Happy Ne–!”
“Na-na-na,” my uncle squinted intensely at his phone screen, “not yet.”
We waited. We coughed. For fun, we began, “Seven! Six! Five! Four! Three! TWO! ONE!!”
“…not yet,” said my uncle. Finally, he smiled and leaned back in his seat, “there.”
So we yelled ‘happy new year!’ and everyone hugged.
Soon came the question of new year resolutions.
I tried new year resolutions last year, and besides remembering that I did indeed write a post about it, I have no idea what those resolutions really were.
Some lies with good intentions behind them, probably.
And that’s the thing. I didn’t want to come up with an artsy and positive list of things that were never going to happen.
I was brainstorming with my friend Amy and quickly, we realized we were writing a simple to-do list. I smirked and added “take a shower.” I was smiling more. We were laughing.
Making our ‘new year resolutions’ a list of things we were gonna do anyways is a stinkin’ life hack. It’s awesome!
So anyways. Here’s what I legitimately want to accomplish this year; nothing too artsy, or entertaining, or glamorous, or charitable.
How do you feel about new year resolutions? Have you made any?
What do you think of the yearly to-do?

Nice post, Rebekah! ‘Read a Book a month’ is something I could do so easily when I was a bit younger but now it feels like I am too busy to squeeze it in. 😦 x Need to get into the habit again x

I didn’t know you were a medical biller! That is cool! Great minds think alike.
What’s your skin type/favorite foundation? I’d love to go to Sephora but it’s expensive. Maybe we could ask for samples hehe.

I have a neutral undertone which is strangely harder to search foundations for.. right now I’m using NARS Luminous Weightless coz it’s the only one I found that doesn’t have glycol and somewhat works with my face. it’s so hard trying to use only natural/organic products!

(I’m sorry if you’ve made a post about this) but why have you decided to go all natural/organic?

I did write a post about it. It started with my friend telling me that mineral oil is no good. So, I decided to research it. Then it just snowballed. I started educating myself and now here I am.
