Valentine’s sparks an array of creativity in girls’ clothing, no matter what kind of day their guy has planned. We want to look cute and feel cute and show we cared to make ourselves extra pretty for that special someone.
A few weeks ago, I wrote a post on date ideas. From these have birthed three different outfit choices; a casual look with a Valentine flair, a cute and flirty look perfect for a picnic or movie, and a romantic date night look.
I’ve also teamed up with Emily from thecoloradoblonde.com, who’s created the three different hairstyles featured in the lookbook today.
And yes, every one of these outfits was bought or given to me secondhand.
This outfit was created with TV watching in mind.
Comfortable blue jeans and a soft rose print top make up this look.
Finished with a romantic half-up half-down braid, and you’ll feel like a cute valentine, but with comfier shoes.
The essence of this outfit is in the red top and heart-print skirt.
Tiny details like a thin statement belt make a world of difference.
Matching the belt to the shoes ties it all together.
You can never go wrong with a little black dress and red lipstick. I barely started wearing red lipstick last Christmas, but I am a fan.
The heart tip nails go perfectly with this classy look. They’re a great twist on the typical red nail.
I bought these strappy heels because they reminded me of Audrey Hepburn. And every girl knows: if it reminds you of Audrey Hepburn, you must buy it.
I chose an open shoe to show more skin, giving the appearance of a longer leg, which completed the look.
That’s it for this lookbook! I hope you enjoyed it. Also, don’t forget to check out Emily’s site and her tutorials for today’s post. She does some of the best hair tutorials ever!
A special thank you to Katelin Ann Photography for helping me make my photos that much more professional (and for not being afraid to get on your hands and knees in the grass or stand outside in the freezing cold with me).
Each of these outfits are easily created with pieces you already have in your closet. I hope I’ve inspired you, and thanks for reading!
I had so much fun collaborating with you! LOVE the outfits!!

These looks are amazing! I love that they’re made up of pieces that we probably already have in our closets and that they’re so simple! I’d probably wear every single one of those outfits. 😀 I think my favorite is the flirty look because it’s dressed up but comfortable. Great post! (:

Thank you so much! That’s what I was trying to do. Valentine’s isn’t a day to stress over an outfit. Instead, find something cute in your own closet and rock it! =-)

The second outfit is my favourite too! I love your hair in it, so cute. It makes me realise I don’t have enough girly items in my closet though!

Thank you! The hairstyle is so easy, too! One of the best ways of ‘girlying’ up anything is with jewelry or a fancy hairstyle. I say wear what you like! =-)
